City of Darwin has announced that Lake Alexander is now open.
The lake was temporarily closed as the quality of the water did not reach the levels required for swimming.
Testing has shown that the previously high bacteria levels are now back to a normal level.
Lord Mayor Katrina Fong Lim is pleased the lake is now open to the public again.
“It’s great that we are able to reopen the lake while the school holidays are still on,” said the Lord Mayor.
“City of Darwin continues to maintain our recreational waterways at the highest quality so that our community can enjoy our tropical city,” she added.
