Changes to Your Rates Notice Postal Address

Section 153 of the Northern Territory Local Government Act Section states that 'a person liable to pay rates and charges shall, within 28 days after any change to the address to which notices relating to those rates may be sent by a council, advise the clerk in writing of that change' The Act prescribes a $3,080.00 penalty for non compliance'.

If you have or are about to change your postal address, you should contact the City of Darwin to obtain a Notification of Change of Address form which can be mailed or sent by fax to Council (08 8930 0699). You may also advise Council directly by emailing rates@darwin.nt.gov.au with your property address and mailing address.
