Children's Services, Early Childhood Services Division is part of the Department of Education and Training. The role of Children’s Services is to monitor and assist services to meet their legislative obligations relating to the provision of a children’s services, as well as advising these services to strive for a quality of care which is beyond the minimum licensing requirements.
Children’s services in the Northern Territory are required to comply with the Care and Protection of Children Act 2007 and the Care of Protection of Children (Children’s Services) Regulations. These documents set a minimum standard that all children’s services in the Northern Territory should meet.
Child Care Benefit is a payment from the Australian Government that helps you with the cost of your child care. You can get Child Care Benefit if you are a parent, foster parent or grandparent with a child in your care who is attending child care services approved by, or registered with, the Government.
