Laptop Lending Program
The City of Darwin Libraries in conjunction with the Darwin Digital HUb has launched a laptop lending program. This allows members of the City of Darwin Libraries to borrow a laptop for use inside the library. These laptops have wireless internet access, Open Office software and web browsers. One hour Internet and email access is available free of charge to permanent and temporary library members per day at all four City of Darwin libraries. Bookings are essential.
Visitors can use the Internet at a cost of $1.50 for thirty minutes or $3.00 for an hour.
Bookings will be accepted for a maximum of two hours per person per day.
All printing costs 20c per black and white page.
Staff are available to assist, please ask when booking.
Free Wireless Internet access is now operating at Casuarina, Darwin City, Karama and Nightcliff libraries during opening hours. The service is available to everyone.
Library members – Download up to 100Mb daily with no time limit. When the maximum 100Mb is reached connection will be automatically lost.
Visitors – Receive up to 1 hour’s access.
Printing from WiFi is not available.
Access is available throughout the library including the meeting room and courtyard. Bring in your wireless compatible device and take advantage of this free Internet hotspot!
Computers are also available for word processing under the same terms and conditions as for Internet use.
USB sticks are on sale at all libraries for your convenience.
Libraries have computer software installed to cater for customers with disabilities.
